Festburg's 1967 book (the first illustrated Australian badge book) was full of mistakes like enlarging collar badges to hat badge size when they were never worn. He knew everything, boasted about his book being "definitive" and could not be told anything. He was the only person I have ever met who was capable of denying the evidence of his own eyes: if a badge was not on the MGO files in Melbourne then it did not exist. He may be forgiven because at least he started publishing something.
