An old "Militaria" mag (I think) showed a reconstruction of a British soldier wearing similar headgear at Narvik / Lofoten Islands.
Is it not in "British Army Uniforms and Equipment..........." by B L Davies?
I've found the magazine (issue 15 of April 1995), it shows a similar cap but with outer body of the cap in khaki cloth, only the ear flaps and turn up in sheepskin.
