Hello BillyH, you have acquired a nice example of an authentic 10th Bn badge, obviously made by Hicks & sons (who were one of the main makers.) It is not well known, but the distinct battalion badges for 1 Cdn Division were acquired in the UK, not in Canada. The values you quoted are not out of line. CEF badges almost all run from $50 Cdn up.
