I thought the same thing - shame if it's a member of the forum though.
Btw, the points raised by the mysterious e-mailer:
- location of plaque
- font used for JR Gaunt mark
- colour of badge
- thickness of metal (though not that thin in my opinion and unbendable)
- slight "feet" on lugs
Interestingly, I have a Lord Strathcona's Horse badge with identical Gaunt plaque and almost identical lugs.
