1916 - the design was unpopular and replaced in 1917 with a voided version which had a wire strengthener behind the crown.
I did see a wired one with an unvoided face last week so there was some cross over.
However I don't like the totally unvoided one in post 1 - the lack of piercing, colour of metal and type of slider all scream restrike to me.
It is not Indian or Egyptian in it's origin as these badge types had a distinctive construction.
