Thanks gents for the feedback. Having a badge without the hackle holder would for sure allow the badge to sit snug against the stiff front of a cap.

The badge has a couple of other interesting features;
The grenade has the normal four holes around the circumference for the friction pegs to slot into from the motif arrangement, but these haven't been used and the motif is actually held by two pegs on a central line.
Also the flames of the grenade are 'die-cast'.

Anyway, I thought it was worth showing as an anomaly.
