Default A Little Conundrum to pass the time

Here’s a little conundrum which members may like to consider, the photo shows three somewhat similar cap badges. The one on the left, made from souk silver, is an officer’s shamagh badge of the Trucial Oman Scouts. Its scroll reads in Arabic Quwat Sahil Oman (Oman Coastal Force). The one in the centre is the mystery. Its scroll reads the same as the TOS badge and it has a similar fastening. The one on the right is an all ranks beret badge of the Omani Oman Coast Regiment. Its scroll reads Kateeba Sahil Oman (Oman Coast Regiment). At first sight its very similar to the centre one, but it differs in a number of ways.

My question is where does the centre badge fit? Is it a late TOS badge or is it an early OCR badge. If it were the latter it would be unique among Omani badges in having a pin fastening.
