Interesting that the article referred to NZ and SA. NZ had two styles, the so called lemon squeezer similar to RCMP but dented differently and the Mounted Rifle pattern worn flat with no dents in the crown. Some SA troops wore hats in WW1 and a few Rifle Association s apparently wore them interwar. By WWII they were no longer issued except to Native guards. The Rhodesian s wore them though with left side upturned as off course do the Australian s.
