If you have any contacts in South Africa it is possible to get a poppy made of beads. I think it is Zulu beadwork.

I got one at least ten years ago, when I was trying to get poppy from each country that wears them.

I also sourced some "standard" South African poppies, but when they turned up they were the same as English poppies. I was later told that they import them from here.
