Sports colours badge. This is a first colour - i.e a major sport. There's also a version without the wreath which was a minor sports colour.
Now for the controversal bit! It was worn on the breast pocket of the issue double breasted blue reefer jacket (aka blazer for the uninitiated) - but of course as any gentleman knows you should never, ever wear a badge on a double breasted reefer. In the day, officers wore a double breasted reefer with NO badge; NCOs and ORs wore a single breasted blazer with a badge; WOs as usual pleased themselves.
And to make things difficult if you were a member of the RMAS sailing club you wore black buttons rather than gilt on your reefer.
