Boer war period uniforms, head-dress, and badges, so it is great to see your named khaki drill patrol jacket, and its buttons which make it particularly interesting.

If you scroll down to the “SEVENTH CONTINGENT” post in the following link, you will see a close match to your jacket being worn by Louis Klee (No. 26 Company) 7th Contingent.

The following pictures, which I have recently rediscovered, were taken a few years ago while visiting the Auckland museum.
They show another 7th contingent uniform which previously belonged to Sergeant Neil Gloster McLeod, 21 Company.

The superb helmet badge says “7th FIGHTING” on top of a kiwi standing between to ferns above the word “NEW ZEALAND.”
