Thanks Gary. The tank badge is very unusual. It is the first of that pattern I have seen. The COTC slip-ons added the white strip to identify the individual as an officer candidate. In my understanding the white strip was the rank identification until the candidate became a qualified officer. Later, the white strip with a rank star of the appropriate corps was worn. In my understanding that was not until after the war. (IIRC, the COTC was basically shut down as of 1942?)
