I guess the person who put it all together was just avoiding duplication and triplication - I am not an expert on collars - but that would be my understanding. 10th Hussars and 12th Lancers collars were the same pattern as 3rd Dragoon Guards. I stand to be corrected if there was any slight variance between them. Source is Dress Regulations 1900 pages 81 and 83.
