According to Carnall there wasn't. One of your identical badges is shown on p. 45 fig 17 and described under 'Collectables - Memorabilia' as one of 'a selection of bullion and embroidered blazer badges'. Hodges p. 272 also states: 'Officers badges are produced in silver, except for the beret badge , which is embroidered.'
Carnall, like most other badge book authors, isn't infallible, but I believe he's got this bit correct.
How many other corps, or regiments for that matter, wear or wore bullion cap badges in No 1 dress?
