I believe that the original text was, "
Quit you like men, be strong" ("The First Epistle of St Paul to the Corinthians" Chapter XVI, Verse13). The Regiment's detractors are said to have reversed the motto thus - "Men like you quit"!!
Even the SAS was not immune to this - "Who cares who wins" has been noted!
