For anyone who is interested, I have (thanks to help from Seadog) been able to id the badge I posted, and it has made me a very happy camper
. It is a SA Navy medical dept Warrant Officer First Class cap badge. As the SAN medics merged with SAMS in around 1982, it would date from before then, but I still have to find out how long it was in use.
