Hi Paul, 1/ Yes; 2/ No, but I'm sure some officer would have worn 1 as them;3/ No but they do appear with lugs so maybe or just converted. There is an Indian made one with lugs; 4/ Yes both British and Indian made; 5/ I only have an unmarked J R Gaunt one so could be silver but probably plate.
