Although he's not in the photograph, Francis Easton Leach was born in Montreal on November 24, 1875. He graduated from RMC in 1896. He served in South Africa with the 1st CMR and was awarded the Queen's Medal with 3 clasps.
He was a Lieutenant in the 72nd Regiment, when he was made a Temporary Lt Col on March 10, 1916, whilst commanding a CEF battalion.
In civilian life he was a civil engineer. He died in 1954.
