I have heard anecdotes of WW2 Australian soldiers buying WW1 camel badges in Egypt as souvineers .Not saying this is the case, but is one possibility.
But the design of this badge is just different than what is known as a genuine NZICC badge in NZ. Most genuine badges come onto the market, or are in collections in New Zealand . The 'stumpy' camels are coming onto the market in the UK .
I would like to see dimensions ,such as height as well ,to compare to known genuine examples .Also the genuine ones are yellow brass in colour.
