I have found that RMLI & RMA Colour Sergeants badges were sewn directly in the material of the tunic sleeve and sleeves interchanged between uniforms and new Col. Sgts but after they became the RM then Col. Sgt badges tended to be a single badge sewn onto the sleeve.
However your RM badge does appear to be sewn as the earlier ones, possibly an early post 1923 badge.
