Oddly I can never remember seeing any mention of the reason why a SWB was issue to an individual on the Officers rolls unlike the ORs rolls which often give quite detailed and specific information. All that is noted on Lt Wake's SWB issue roll is the fact that it was issued to him, the issue voucher number and the address to where it was sent (in this case C/O Mrs Meadwell, Briargate, Bishop's Road, Peterborough)
