eBay is a minefield of fakery and dishonest sellers. Add lack of knowledge and the resultant misdescription of items and the good old "I'll call it WWI, WWII period, whatever, it's not important, I don't care if it was really worn only a few years ago as long as I make a buck" attitude and it's a very risky place.
I buy lots of militaria on evilbay, really, lots of it.
There are honest sellers, there are good genuine badges, there are bargains to be had occasionally - but watch it.
