The badge is pierced, just the depth of the top of the left hand cushion gives the impression of being unvoided.
An image that I didn't bother to post in post no. 1, and crop of one that shows the slider pocket area. The bottom of the exposed slider shows where the lower of the two slits are, it only pierces the outer fabric so doesn't sactually "slider slits" are. The badge is a Gaunt B'ham.
Looks like there's never be n a R Sigs badge fitted.
