It is also often claimed that the SAS used the drab over trousers in Gulf War I because the British no longer had any desert camo clothing. These are much the same as the camo trousers but plain drab coloured, though perhaps not windblock. Obviously when I sell this pair they will be listed as SAS desert camo...........type.

Back to the thread starters, originally they were WWII issue camo over trousers and smocks for all army personnel, though I have only read of them being issued in Italy in after the invasion.
