Default The North Irish Horse

Hi Phil

Sadly I cannot answer your question "Lugs or slider in WW2"

I think the WW2 badge however would have been in brass or gilding metal.
In 1952 the KC badge was changed back to wm to be followed later by the new qc also in wm.

However I have put up three badges to NIH. The first is the kc officers' bronze with two blades, the kc wm or it maybe chrome c 1952 with slider, and one very small "maple leaf".

In May 1944 General G C Vokes, GOC 1st Canadian Infantry Division, stated that he would be pleased if all ranks 25 Tank Brigade would wear a Maple Leaf emblem in token of the part played by the Brigade assisting 1 Cdn Inf Div to break the Adolf Hitler Line.

This small emblem was worn by NIH at the top of each arm just below the shoulder title.

Best wishes

Gordon
