Default Fake or Broken Badge

Hi All

You are going to hate these pictures!

I bough a Cameron Highlanders cap badge. The detail on the badge itself I like, there was a slider at one point which broke. Someone then soldered a broken split pin, note not lugs but a split pin to the back. Now the badge was cheap only 3 pounds I think. It‘s obviously not trying to be something it’s not as the repair job is too messy. I am wondering is it an original badge that a soldier might have repaired so he could still use it. In which case I would be quite happy to have it in my collection as it tells a story. I know that’s not to everyone’s taste. Can you look at the pictures and tell me if the original badge is genuine. I not sure if they ever had sliders on them at any point.

Thanks
Martin
