Default EY non-voided

I don't include the non-voided EY badge on my website (though I do have many variants of it) as I regard it as unofficial. There's no evidence so far of a sealed pattern. I cover what I have discovered about it on page 66 of my book.

I have seen a photo (likely the same one that Rob refers) to and while grainy it does appear to show a non-voided badge being worn by a member of 2/1st EY. Its period of use would therefore have been very brief at best. But given that there are more examples out there on dealer sites and in particular eBay than I'd expect to see.

I have seen it in metals ranging from brass to bronze and silver (allegedly silver plate). There is absolutly no legitimate reason for that last one to have been worn, and still uncertainty about the others.
