Well done for forsaking D&D for army badges, though I'm not sure the badges are more of a girl magnet than D&D.
I have an old gate that someone made by welding swords, bayonets and the like to an iron frame and I've thought about welding my fake badges to it.
Then again, I'm considering mounting them in a frame purely as an ornament of no no monetary value.
The generally reccomended course of action though is to take a hammer to 'em.
I'll let those with the knowledge reccomend the books.
