Looks as though the lugged version could be for either the cap or collar, then.

Hard to tell from the photo if there is a difference in size, but since both are so similar, I doubt if such a small cap badge could have accommodated a slider... what do you reckon?

Perhaps the N/S orientation of the lugs might be significant in this respect?
