The design of the Royal Signals cap badge with King’s Crown and oval surround was approved by King George the Vth on 23 March 1921. In 1946 the design changed to two parts with the King’s Crown above the figure of Mercury without the oval surround.

Your embroidered badge therefore dates between 1921 and 1946 although could have been made after 1946.
