Thanks. I wonder if the two lug versions (by all makers) of the Parachute Regiment cap badge were introduced at the request of the regiment as being more suitable for wear on the beret?
There is a risk that perhaps we read too much into the placing of makers marks on anodised and recent issue badges. At the factory production level it is probably of limited significance. Of course since 2012 the MOD contract specifications state that no makers details are to be placed on badges or packaging.
