There is an article, "Badges of the Officer Training Corps", written by Ernest J. Martin in the Spring 1938 edition of The Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research. This is what he says:-
University of Wales : Aberystwyth University College.
Button. - The Welsh Dragon.
University of Wales : Bangor University College.

[Fig. 2.] for Bangor shows a photo of the button of the Welsh Dragon without the loop in the tail. As you will notice the Aberystwyth button is not referenced to [Fig. 2.], so is it possible that the button with the loop in the tail is the one that was worn by Aberystwyth U.C?
