Would it be a made-up item or did this unit have such badges made out of the material mentioned?
Thanks for any asistance

Badge is good for WWII period. Was produced locally from thin sheet brass and then oxidized. Many troops polished back the oxidation to leave either a copper or brass colour. These were also cast in lead and brass. The unit was around pre-war as well and had a very finely made gilding metal badge made in the UK. These are hard to find as pre-war the unit was small. The unit expanded exponentially c.1940 and therefor the need for many quickly produced badges.
