Hello Gentlemen,
French collector, rather interested in the two world wars, I got interested a few years ago by the magnificent insignia of the British army, unfortunately rare to find towards us.
But I still have a lot to learn and more particularly on everything related to traditions… I acquired this Glengarry from the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders and, even if it is not strictly speaking a cap badge, I allow myself to post this message and I would be happy if you could help me learn more.
Is it military or civilian?
What era is it from?
What do we call its different components: the red pompom at the top, the checkered headband, the cockade under the badge cap, the ribbon at the back, the plume?
Thank you in advance for your kindness in helping me answer these questions.
Best regards,
Jean Marc
