The badge came with reference to an old story. The old story went that the adjutant of the 92nd wore a cap badge with the enamel on the Canada. Of course it is another story that will likely never be verified, unless of course someone comes forward with the photo or the letter home describing it. What did it for me was the lugs. If it had a pin back I would have leaned towards sweetheart as well. Either way it is an interesting treatment applied to a stock G/S cap badge. I am overdue to say that the thread you started should be published as a chapter of a book on CEF badge history. Thank you so much for sharing your collection and your knowledge.
