I suspect the reason the price has gone way above what you would expect to pay is because the stalk on the shamrock is pointing to the left.
Most genuine badges for sale usually have the stalk to the right.
Photographic evidence would show that a matching pair of collar badge shamrocks would have a left and right facing stalk.
Left facing stalk badges are very rare.
Collar badges would have lugs and it looks like these have been removed and replaced with a pin fixing to make it a sweetheart badge.
I think it's well past the price it's worth.
