The blouse is attributed to Lieutenant HG Taylor RNZNVR (A), was made by McLaren of Glasgow and was made in the style of an army BD blouse but this private purchase example has satin linings to the collar, belt and the pockets are made of satin as well. The blouse was made with shoulder straps sewn in and the naval rank boards have been sewn on top. So no not a dyed blouse.
The wearing of this style of blouse is early and predates the Officers Blue Working Dress.

The undress coat in day 9 belonged to the same person.
