My gut feeling is the quality of this badge is too poor to be pre-WW1.
Whilst the dealer who contributed to that old thread is experienced sadly on more than one occasion he has shown himself to be both misinformed and untrustworthy.
I no longer buy into the Dardanelles campaign story but I think wartime manufacture is entirely plausible or even probable.
Of course FSH is a distinct possibility, however, there are examples of what are obviously later FN marked short slidered KSOB badges and as the highlighted and a couple other old threads show other Scots badges do appear with short sliders making FSH unlikely IMO.
This conundrum is made even more difficult with this badge as the slider has been repaired/replaced.
