I believe you’re referring to the embroidered Para shoulder titles worn during WW2.
Establishing a comprehensive list of unofficial Parachute Regiment designations is an difficult task given the large variety of insignias produced during the war.
You have to remember that the British Army prohibited the wear of distinctive Regimental designations until ACI 905 was published on June 12th 1943.

A few exceptions existed for some Regiments but excluded Parachute units. It was probably thought that the Pegasus patches and the ‘Airborne’ strips which have been introduced respectively in June and Oct 1942) distinguished them sufficiently.
From June 1943 onward, all official Parachute Regiment titles were printed on cloth like other regimental designations (with a very few exceptions – see Brian Davis’ very informative book).
Of course prior to the official announcement of the Parachute Regiment formation (Aug 1st 1942), unauthorized wearing of private purchase shoulder titles occurred. They came first with the word ‘Parachute’ embroidered on maroon felt. Then, ACI 713 dated 4 April 1942 specified the official coloured strip to be worn on each sleeve for all members of the Army Air Corps (Cambridge blue and dark blue). We can assume that the unofficial Parachute Regiment titles could then be found in blue shortly after.
Both types of cloth titles continued to be worn after the introduction of the printed titles and period photos suggest that 1st Airborne division members worn predominantly Parachute titles on maroon.
