yes marinus I have one of these badges with the voided crown only the other one has a voided crown and lion.they are not firmin badges as the shroud lines on those go all way to the bottom and are symetrical.ludlow officers badges.some voided crown and lion some voided crown only and they always converge on the left hand side of the square at the bottom only Ludlow badges do this.gaunt,firmin made officers and other rank badges so it would make sense that Ludlow made other rank badges as well.where the shroud lines meet at the bottom is the point here.they could be made by another maker unknown.some people think these could be fakes i.m not sure of that as they have inner wings rounded ect.i have many para,army air corp,glider pilot regiment badges and buttons.i have collected for many years and study these things carefully.opinions are divided on this as with a couple of sealed crown types which are different to the gaunt pattern
