Hi Leigh,

Could be but that would be a pretty big call to make - I think it would be better to wait for a dated pattern card, Gaunt letter or similar to really confirm the change.

My 1966 date was based on the Gaunt B'Ham marked brass slider Queen's Regt badges falling apart in tropical climates. The was confirmed by a dated letter from the L.M.Arnold from Chief of the General Staff to Gaunt dated Jan 1967.

One can safely assume the issue was pre Jan 1967 given time for badges to fail hence assembled no later than 1966.

As such, and with the doco we have, 1966 can (earing to caution) be the regarded as the most accurate date we have.

This could always change though and the badge you have may help to revisit this year but by itself I would urge caution.
