Believe it or not, it all started when I was a small boy and began collecting W. Britains toy soldiers. Being of Scottish ancestry my interests tended in that direction. While a midshipman our summer cruise took us to Edinburgh, with a train visit to London. In the 1960's through the 80's I lived in the metropolitan Los Angeles area where there was a very large gun and militaria show on a regular basis. If you visit my blog page you will find that later as a naval intelligence officer I became interested in the failure of the military planners to use the information they had at hand during the planning of Operation Market-Garden.
