In the article in post 45, page 225 states that the 19th Hussars were one of the regiments which had a new badge designed for their Brodrick. Unfortunately it is not clear where he got this information from or whether the sealed pattern date of 1903 was assumed to be indicative that the new badge was of the new hat.

Bearing in mind the 19th Hussars Brodrick was in a hugely impractical white colour, that's just another reason why the regiment may have declined to wear the new hat and badge and retained the FSC/ pill box until the new peaked cap came in in 1905 which they seem to have worn with the Danneborg cross which the officers were already wearing on their peaked caps,
