Indeed with the regimental variance in headgear it's impossible to find out whether the band wore FSC, peaked caps or pill box caps in the early 1900's.
We do know for certain that the 1st pattern single scroll cap badge was worn in 1900 period on slouch hats but other than that I cannot find a single photo of the regiment in anything other then ceremonial uniforms.
The search goes on.
