I think Peter is the nearest to the mark !
I know several dozen " collectors " who buy their badges according to the price and not whether they are genuine or not, as long as they have a nice looking ( and some are nice ) badge to for instance, The Warwickshire Regiment, they are quite happy.
Who are we to ' knock ' them, it is their choice and their money so what they do is their business, those of us who only want a genuine badge, strive to purchase just that !
