Good evening

I got this badge in a group of north/east Africa / Middle East police badges. It is like images I have seen of the Cyrenaica Defence Force cap badge although the star/crescent faces the other way. So is it CDF or Cyrenaica Police? Would it have been worn under the British Military Administration, the short-lived Emirate of Cyrenaica, or after the foundation of Libya?

As always any information will be gratefully received.

I can’t give the usual caveat as I haven’t decided what to do with it: depending on who wore it when I may keep it, but if I decide to dispose of it I would advertise it on the Forum in the first instance.
