Don't know if any of this is of interest to you, but here goes....
Percy Edward Smith was born in Keswick, Norwich and was the son of Jacob Barker Smith and Eliza Smith who lived at 37 Mariners Lane, King Street, Norwich.
Percy enlisted at Peterborough on the 31st August 1915 giving his trade as "Farm Labourer". He enlisted in the 93rd Battalion of the CEF and was allocated the service number 195207. He served with the 93rd Battalion in both UK and Canada. He arrived in France on 3rd October 1916 and was posted to B Company of the 20th Battalion of the CEF.
On the 9th April 1917 he was received a bullet wound to his lower right leg during an action at Vimy Ridge.
After spending time in various hospitals in France, UK and Canada he appeared before a medical board and was discharged on the 15th August 1918 as being "no longer fit for war service". His intended address on discharge was 21 Crescent Street, Peterbrough, Ontario.
