The East Anglian Regiments only lasted for 6 years, it hardly seemed worth the trouble of forming them, or producing their badges come to that, but then who knows the reasoning that goes on within the corridors of power?

I've been having a look at the old foot regiment numbers and it fits:
1st East Anglian = 9th and 12th foot
2nd East Anglian= 10th and 48th/58th foot
3rd East Anglian = 16th and 44th/56th foot
they must have been thinking 4 years ahead when they were amalgamating that lot.
