Only just got round to reading this thread but glad you found the 51st album interesting 8th Foot. Still hope to add to it when I can get enough free time to do it justice.
Re comments on being informed that a badge may not be as original as the owner would like, as long as it was done in a constructive way I for one would actually welcome that.
Better to learn on here where people have a genuine interest and are willing to share their knowledge than in a more public place from someone wanting to show off or score points etc.
If it helped another collector avoid making a dodgy purchase then so much the better.
On a slightly different tack, one of the badges shown in my album is a restrike (and labelled as such) but it was worn on my TOS both in the UK and overseas in preference to the issued AA version. It would be interesting to hear other members comments on whether that would change the way they view the badge...
