A cadre was formed at Nowshera and Meerut on 1.1.1941.
The 3 batteries became 581, 582 & 583 Field Batteries on 27.3.1943
On 1.9.1943 it was reorganised as The 158th Jungle Field Regt, RA and then on 15.7.1944 the Jungle part was dropped..

On 15.2.1946 disbanded.
On 28.2.1946 RHQ and Batteries reformed as 73, 74 & 130 Parachute Field Batteries.
On 22.7.1946 renumbered back to 581, 582 and 583 Field Batteries and later disbanded.

So this badge harks back to the 1946 reincarnation of 130 Parachute Field Battery and is a blazer badge worn by an old member.

regards
